2024 Town of Chesapeake Beach Election preparations: The Town of Chesapeake Beach Board of Elections is preparing for the 2024 Town election. NOTICE: Mears Ave Road Condition- The Town of Chesapeake Beach is aware of potholes on the east bound side of Mears Ave that require repair. The Town contacted the responsible party; however, due to the wet weather conditions the repair was delayed. The potholes are expected to be repaired no later than tomorrow, April 9, 2024. Please use caution in the area.

The Town of Chesapeake Beach requests proposals for refuse collection services. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on April 11th at 10 AM at the Chesapeake Beach Town Hall: 8200 Bayside Rd. Chesapeake Beach, MD. Sealed proposals are due April 29th at 9:00 AM. RFP information can be obtained through eMMA Marketplace Advantage Sourcing Project: Town of Chesapeake Beach Refuse Collection Services (#BPM043156) or by contacting Holly Wahl at hwahl@chesapeakebeachmd.gov

The Town of Chesapeake Beach requests proposals for the play equipment installation at the Miller-Loveless Park at Kellams Field. BOARD OF APPEALS NOTICES: 

 

April 17, 2024 Town of Chesapeake Beach Board of Appeals Hearing starting at 6:30 PM a continuation of Case #2023-23: This meeting will be held at the Chesapeake Beach Town Hall and live-streamed here on the Town's channel.  The Board of Appeals expects  cross examination of witness testimony is likely to continue with all parties of record having the ability to cross examine sworn witness testimony as the appellant wraps up their presentation to the Board of Appeals. If you have a question about whether or not you are listed as a party of record for this hearing please contact the Town Clerk, Sharon Humm, at shumm@chesapeakebeachmd.gov

Case #2023-03 - to consider an application from Rod & Reel, Inc./Donovan Estates, LLC of 4160 Mears Avenue, Chesapeake Beach, MD, for a Decision on Interpretation or Alleged Error to Article VI, §290-23; §290-31 A(1) & (6) of the Chesapeake Beach Zoning Ordinance; and C-309, C-310, and C-311 of the Chesapeake Beach Town Charter. The Applicant requests the Chesapeake Beach Zoning Board of Appeals to "order the Zoning Administrator and Planning and Zoning Commission (to) immediately commence and prioritize the processing and review of the relevant site plans submitted by Rod & Reel, Inc./Donovan Estates, LLC and that the Zoning Administrator and Planning and Zoning Commission be ordered to apply the Zoning ordinances in effect as of January 29, 2021, when the applications were submitted, and for such other and further relief as the nature of their cause requires".

To view the Town of Chesapeake Beach Board of Appeals Adopted Rules of Procedure please click here. The Board of Appeals is currently on process #2 within the Steps below as outlined by the Rules of Procedure and expects to be moving to process #3 Town staff testimony and evidence as the appellant wraps up their presentation, testimony and evidence. 


NAVAL RESEARCH LABRATORY (NRL) CBD Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) Meeting:

 

Restoration Advisory Board Meeting – Open to the Public Naval Research Laboratory – Chesapeake Bay Detachment The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Washington, in cooperation with the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE), has established a Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) to discuss environmental restoration issues at Naval Research Laboratory – Chesapeake Bay Detachment (NRL-CBD). A RAB is an advisory panel of local community members who meet regularly with the Navy and regulatory agency representatives to discuss and provide input on environmental investigation and cleanup plans. NRL-CBD's RAB meetings are conducted twice annually. These meetings are open to the public. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Exercise Room at the Northeast Community Center, 4075 Gordon Stinnett Avenue in Chesapeake Beach. The agenda for this meeting includes results of the Site 9 Expanded Supplemental Site Inspection, PFAS Site Updates, the UXO-001 Proposed Remedial Action Plan and PFAS Regulatory Updates.
