In response to COVID-19

[April 1, 2020, Chesapeake Beach, MD] On March 27th, the Town closed the Chesapeake Beach railway trail focusing on access points that mainly attract visitors from out of Town. At that time, the Town kept the access points to the trail from residential neighborhoods open, while monitoring the use and crowds on the trail.

Due to continued heightened concerns related to social distancing, the Town is closing all access points to the trail from all locations effective April 1, 2020. We recognize that the trails serve as a respite to the current health pandemic; however, as the spread of the virus continues to increase the Town must take this action.

If you are walking in other areas of Town, please maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from others and use extra caution.

Stay well. We will get through this.
