Inclement Weather: Preparation of Town roads

January 15, 2022 (Chesapeake Beach, MD)- With expected inclement weather to start tomorrow afternoon, Public Works crews are brining hills and steep slopes on Town roadways in preparation and expect to complete this work by this evening.

Brining provides anti-icing and involves placing a layer of brine on the surface of the pavement before a winter storm has begun to prevent snow and ice from freezing to the road. Public Works requests that citizens avoid any unnecessary travel during inclement weather events, with snow and freezing rain conditions, to allow crews the time necessary to treat the roadways.
