REVISED: Hydrant Flushing Schedule

Adjusted due to the Recent Water Main Break

March 14, 2023 (Chesapeake Beach, MD) - The Chesapeake Beach Public Works staff will conduct hydrant flushing in several areas of the Town this week. The schedule is delayed and slightly revised due to the Public Works staff response to the water main break in Richfield Station today. Take a moment and thank a member of Public Works if you see them in your area - it is always appreciated.

Why does the Town Flush Hydrants? This flushing process increases the water flow rate to clear the lines and remove the build-up of naturally occurring debris and sediment. Flushing will not interrupt your water service; however, it is common to see a drop in water pressure while public works crews work in your area. Water can become discolored after flushing; however, drinking is safe. If this happens, run your cold water tap for a few minutes until the water is clear. If it is not clear the first time, wait a few minutes and repeat this process.

See the revised detailed schedule below for more details.
