Richfield Station Saddle Replacements

Notice of Infrastructure Improvements

April 6, 2023 (Chesapeake Beach, MD) - Chesapeake Beach Public Works will be replacing water main infrastructure in Richfield Station starting Monday April 10th.

The infrastructure improvement is scheduled to take about 5 to 6 days and will involve cutting open the road to access the water main. This work is required due to failures of saddles in and around Richfield Station. Preventative measures prior to failure reduces costs to the Town and reduces down time of services.

To complete the necessary work there will be scheduled water turn offs for several hours at a time. Public Works staff plans to conduct these turn offs at 9:00 AM and in most cases the water is back on within 4 hours.  Homeowners will receive a notice the day before each shut off. The area highlighted in purple below is the impacted area on Woodland Lane and Woodlane Terrace. In the event of an unplanned water main failure while completing this work, we must immediately turn off water and will communicate with residents at that time when water service will be restored.

Please use caution and be aware equipment and staff members may be in the street as you drive to and from your home.
