July 31, 2022 (Chesapeake Beach, MD) - On International Lifeguard Appreciation Day, the Mayor and Town Council thank all of the lifeguards keeping us safe and sends a very special thank you to our very own Chesapeake Beach Water Park lifeguards

International Lifeguard Appreciation Day is a day for honoring and appreciating those professionals, who are saddled with the responsibility of making sure that pool facilities and beaches are safe for visitors and ensuring that they too are guarded while they enjoy a swim. Lifeguards diligently dedicate not only their time but lives to enabling a safe environment for swimmers. They instruct and keep a constant watch on guests to prevent injury and rescue them from life-threatening accidents. Do you know that about 10,000 people are rescued from drowning yearly by lifeguards? What could be more heroic than that?

If you see a lifeguard today or any day please take a moment and thank them!

The Chesapeake Beach Water Park trains prospective employees interested in becoming a certified lifeguard. The Chesapeake Beach Water Park management is unique in that they work directly one on one with prospective lifeguards to ensure they have the skills necessary to serve this important role at the Water Park. If you are interested, or know of someone interested in becoming a lifeguard for the 2023 season, check our website here. Opportunities will be posted in the coming months for the 2023 season!

Thank you to our Lifeguards!
