Thank you to the voters of Chesapeake Beach for electing me to our Town Council. I look forward to serving all residents and commercial establishments and will work hard to continue to improve our Town. I promise to work collaboratively with all my fellow Council members and our Mayor. I believe it is important that we consider all aspects of a particular issue, pro and con, before reaching a consensus but reaching that consensus is imperative. We must work together to represent the residents of our Town and “Get Things Done.”  I am currently a member of the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department and will continue to serve in this role during my term on the Council. Before being elected to our Town Council I served on the Town’s Planning and Zoning Commission. My professional background includes having a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. My professional career consisted of working for over 40 years as a civil engineer in consulting engineering and was a registered professional engineer in 8 states and the District of Columbia. During my career I specialized in environmental and water quality issues which I will use to work to continue to improve the quality of our local waterways. After retiring for the first time in 2014, I was asked to accept an assignment as Interim Executive Director of a not-for-profit organization that specialized in advancing the state of the art in research associated with the water quality profession. I retired for the second time in 2015. I am an avid sailor and enjoy time sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. I am currently an active member of the Seagate Homeowners Association. I have two grown children, my daughter and son, and am the very proud grandfather of two grandsons who call me “G-Pa”.
