June 8, 2023 (Chesapeake Beach, MD) - Stay safe and stay indoors today as much as possible due to the Air Quality Index in Chesapeake Beach and the surrounding areas.
The current conditions are at an unhealthy level due to a pollutant PM2.5 being at high levels. Fine Particulate Matter PM2.5* is an air pollutant that is a concern for people's health when levels are high. PM2.5 are tiny particles in the air which reduce visibility and cause the air to appear hazy when levels are elevated.
