January 23, 2023 (Chesapeake Beach, MD) - The best time to plan for the future, is today. The Town of Chesapeake Beach is doing just that - by preparing for future conditions of our coastline. Through funding made available by the State of Maryland, the Town is well underway in a study of sea level rise and plan to address coastal resiliency.  The work is being guided by a Steering Committee of Town residents and business owners who have special knowledge, interest, or experience with flooding and its local impacts. We ask that all Town residents, businesses and community organizations join us to learn more about the potential impacts of flooding in our Town. There are many ways to engage and share your perspectives.

Here are just a few:

#1 Attend one or both of the Coastal Resiliency workshops listed below (February 6th at 6PM at the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department or February 27th at 6 PM at the Chesapeake Beach Town Hall). These workshops are designed to inform Town residents and businesses of the areas that are most at risk while engaging citizens in ideas for potential solutions. The meetings are set at two different dates and two different locations in hopes of capture more public input. Spread the word and bring a neighbor with you!
