October 16, 2023 (Chesapeake Beach, MD) - The Chesapeake Beach Public Works staff will conduct hydrant flushing for regular maintenance of the Town's water system over the next two weeks.

Why does the Town Flush Hydrants? This flushing process increases the water flow rate to clear the lines and remove the build-up of naturally occurring debris and sediment. Flushing will not interrupt your water service; however, it is common to see a drop in water pressure while public works crews work in your area. Water can become discolored after flushing; however, drinking is safe. If this happens, run your cold water tap for a few minutes until the water is clear. If it is not clear the first time, wait a few minutes and repeat this process.
