Help Keep Roads Safe and Accessible

Vegetation removal from Town road ways - Fire Department Route Update
Town logo

December 16, 2021(Chesapeake Beach, MD)- The Town of Cheaspeake Beach is providing notice to residents of overgrown trees and shrubs in the Town roadways. Overgrown vegetation is a safety hazard that is currently blocking both school bus and fire safety equipment access. The Town received notice from the Calvert County Board of Education and the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department (NBVD) regarding a decreased ability of safety apparatus and school buses to clear the roadways.

The included map, below, is the main areas where Public Works will focus most of the efforts. The Town will not be triming along State or County roadways. Trimming will take place to the back of the road edge and in some cases back to the Right of Way.

If you have any concerns or know of a planting on your property that will be impacted by this, please call Town Hall at (410)257-2230 and a member of Public Works will meet with you at your property to review your questions or concerns. Thank you for your help as the Town works to keep all roads open and safe.

The North Beach Volunteer Fire Department also reminds citizens of their route along D Street. Signage will be posted by the Town marking this path in the coming weeks.  Please be aware that Emergency responders utilize the back entrance of the Fire Department to bring equipment in and out when responding to emergencies. Please use caution and be aware.
