A message from Jay Berry, Public Works Administrator regarding upcoming inclement weather:

Public works ask that all vehicles be removed from town roads by the end of the day. Due to the tight areas, we will be salting Cul-de-sacs and dead-end roads late tonight and will clean them after the snow has stopped. If vehicles are in Town roads this will hinder our ability to clear the area. Crews  focus efforts on keeping main roads passable through the event and work all other roads.

I would advise you to not shovel the last several feet of your driveway until our crews can make their last pass to widen the roadway. Snowplows can only push snow to the side of the road, so when you have cleaned your driveway to the street there is no way for the plow driver not to fill it back in. Our focus is to keep all roads open for everyone’s safety through the night. So,if you are going to be home, please wait to clean the last part, until we have made our final pass.

We ask if you do not need to be on the road tomorrow, please stay home.

Lastly please remember the snowplow driver you see tomorrow has worked several 16-hour days this week already. So, when you wake up tomorrow and see them after daylight, please realize they have been out all night working and would love to be home themselves.

Thank you for your patience as we work to maintain services and keep roadways clear.
