Light Up the Beaches

The opioid epidemic continues to ravage the entire country as well as our local communities. Fortunately, there is hope. Medical treatment works and when combined with comprehensive therapies can save lives and provide a path to recovery, ending the needless suffering of all involved. The Calvert County Health Department, Behavioral Health division has a regionally leading Recovery Rapid Response program and Mobile Crisis Treatment team that provides comprehensive "Treatment on Demand" 7 days a week. Stigma, myths, and misunderstandings about opioid addiction remain impediments to effective treatment. Community collaborations, engagement and education can help. Calvert County and Southern Maryland continue to make progress and save lives.

Show your support and light up Chesapeake Beach and North Beach purple into September.
