January 19, 2024 (Chesapeake Beach, MD) - Due to inclement weather Town Hall will close to in person walk ins a 2 PM. Town Hall phone lines will remain open until 4:30 PM by dialing (410) 257-2230. All recycling services will be collected tomorrow pending further weather delays. Stay tuned for Town notices of impacts. 

Treating / Plowing of Town Roads: The Town of Chesapeake Beach Public Works crews are treating Town roadways and ask that residents move their cars off of the Town roadways so that plows can clear the roads safely and efficiently. Leaving a car on the road is dangerous to plow operators and can result in damage to vehicles. 

Children Play Area Safety Notice: Public Works reminds parents to be mindful of plowing activities throughout the day from the State, Town, and County and to avoid children playing near the roadways where heavy equipment will be operating.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS EVENING...

WHAT...Snow. Total snow accumulation 2 to 4 inches in the suburbs of Washington DC with 1 to 3 inches for other areas. However, snow accumulation around a coating to 1 inch is most likely across extreme southern Maryland into the Virginia Piedmont. WHERE...Portions of southern Maryland, northern Virginia, and the Virginia Piedmont.

WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening.

IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions may impact the evening commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. When venturing outside, watch your first few steps taken on steps, sidewalks, and driveways, which could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
