UPDATE: Public Works Notice - Saddle Repairs

June 30, 2023 (Chesapeake Beach, MD) - The Chesapeake Beach Public Works staff completed saddle repair work in the Richfield Station community and is now moving to Bayview Hills.

Citizens should look for the Public Works variable message board, flyers on your door and the Town website for updates. Thank you for your patience as we work to make these needed infrastructure improvements to reduce water main breaks and future service interruptions. Residents have been mindful of public works crews in the area, allowing them to work safely - and it is much appreciated.

Questions related to road patches: There have been several questions from citizens related to what will happen to the patches in the road. Patches will be repaired with hot mix asphalt when all work is finished, in some areas there will be a complete mill and overlay of the road.

Work Schedule Update: Public Works will start work on Delores court (Bayview Hills) the morning of July 5th at the green X on the map below. Work will move along the red highlighted areas in the direction of the arrows. Assuming that the saddles are in failing condition Public Works will follow that schedule with work expected to be completed in 7 to 10 working days. If Public Works finds that the saddles are not failing, work will stop. Further updates will be provided.

What should citizens expect: Citizens living on the Delores court can expect Miss Utility marks in the street. Crews will be saw cutting in the road and then digging down to the water lines. Scheduled water shut offs are planned and will be posted on the variable message boards near the work site. Water shut offs typically take place between 9:00 am to 12 noon but may vary depending on conditions.
