Vultures, Damage to Property, Littering Waterways

All Preventable by Covering your Trash and Keeping Property Clear of Debri
Town Logo

November 10, 2022 (Chesapeake Beach, MD)- Town residents are asked to take note of the placement of their trash.

The Town is seeing issues, especially in the large homeowners association communities, where waste is left out in individual bags violating the Town Code. Leaving trash in bags brings vultures and other pests who tear the bags open, littering neighboring streets and open spaces. Not only is the trash unsightly and littering our waterways, but vultures can also create substantial damage to property by tearing roof shingles, rubber roof liners, and damaging vehicles. Code Enforcement will be monitoring areas, especially on trash days, and issuing citations for uncovered trash containers.

Please help us spread the word and take a little extra time to cover all trash and keep lots and neighboring areas clear of trash and debri.
