BOARD OF APPEALS NOTICE:
On Case #2023-03 Rod & Reel, Inc. / Donovan Estates, LLC.
Case #2023-03 - Notice is hereby given that the Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on May 29, 2024 beginning at 6:30 p.m for a continuation of Case #2023-23 to consider an application from Rod & Reel, Inc./Donovan Estates, LLC of 4160 Mears Avenue, Chesapeake Beach, MD, for a Decision on Interpretation or Alleged Error to Article VI, §290-23; §290-31 A(1) & (6) of the Chesapeake Beach Zoning Ordinance; and C-309, C-310, and C-311 of the Chesapeake Beach Town Charter. The Applicant requests the Chesapeake Beach Zoning Board of Appeals to "order the Zoning Administrator and Planning and Zoning Commission (to) immediately commence and prioritize the processing and review of the relevant site plans submitted by Rod & Reel, Inc./Donovan Estates, LLC and that the Zoning Administrator and Planning and Zoning Commission be ordered to apply the Zoning ordinances in effect as of January 29, 2021, when the applications were submitted, and for such other and further relief as the nature of their cause requires". This hearing is a continuation of the September 19, 2023, October 30, 2023, November 14, 2023, January 4, 2024, January 25, 2024, February 8, 2024, March 14, 2024, and April 17, 2024
NOTICE TO PARTIES OF RECORD: On April 18, 2024 the Chesapeake Beach Board of Appeals issued a letter to Parties of Record on Case No.2023-03 Rod N Reel, Inc / Donovan Estates LLC. To view the letter and supporting information please click here. The notice allows rebuttal comments from the parties of record on those letters. Comments are to be received not later than 4:00 PM April 30, 2024 via Sharon Humm, Town Clerk, at shumm@chesapeakebeachmd.gov. Per the Board of Appeals Rules of Procedure any individual wishing to become a person of record "party of record" must indicate this by signing up to speak at the hearing or otherwise noting their intention in writing to become a person of record. Requests to become a party of record may be sent to Sharon Humm, Town Clerk at shumm@chesapeakebeachmd.gov.

The Board of Appeals is currently on process #2 within the Steps below as outlined by the Rules of Procedure and expects to be moving to process #3 Town staff testimony and evidence as the appellant wraps up their presentation, testimony and evidence.

Join the Mayor and Town Council for the ribbon cutting on our newly named pocket parks, an access point to Kellam's field and Favret Way. The Mayor and Town will officially cut the ribbon of "Shisler Park" and "Favret Way" located on the Bayfront at 29th street, the "Buc's Corner" access point on the northern side of Kellam's field and the "Old Campgrounds Park" located on the B street waterfront overlook. The Town will host fun activities at each location and offer light refreshments at "Shisler Park" and "Favret Way" in partnership with Baia Coastal Kitchen and Wine Bar. More details to follow.
George W. Owings III Stars & Stripes Festival Saturday May 25th starting at 10 AM and followed by Family Fun Day at Kellam's Field with a community gathering honoring those that gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy. The family fun day will offer continued education on the meaning of memorial day and celebrate our freedoms and community. Join us for live music, a community picnic, games and activities.
